Scheel-mann Vario F seats have a design to their seat bottoms that allow them to be lifted up to gain access underneath. This was originally designed for the Defenders because the battery was under the seat. But for the Tacoma, FJ Cruiser and 4th Gen 4Runner owners you get to utilize it for storage. We've specifically designed the seat bracket in both the non-Klima and Klima compatibly seat pans to take advantage of this space and allow us to design a storage bin for both the passenger and passenger seats.
Yes, the scheel-mann Vario F seats are designed with the feature that the lower seat lifts and thus making anything under it accessible. This gave us here at Tolerance STACK the opportunity of actually designing in extra storage availability into our Tacoma, FJ Cruiser, and 4Runner seat mount designs.
In the non-Klima seat pans, which you can see from the image above, the passenger storage box absolutely maximizes the space between the relocated load-cells plus it's positioned onto the crossbars but JUST below the actual seat mount. This keeps prying eyes and fingers out of the storage area but more importantly mechanically it prevents the storage weight being added to the SRS weight calculations. This was crucial.
For the Klima seat pans, as soon above for the driver side, the weight added to the storage plays no part in the SRS airbag operations so the space was maximized again.
The other great thing about Klima is the storage is built-in.
But why would you care if you had storage available much less built-in? Simple, keep things like phones and laptops and squirt guns hidden while you are busy doing other things. Or how about removing that yellow pages sized owner's manual from OUT of your glove compartment so you can use it instead to carry things you need day to day in there?
All storage boxes (Klima or non-Klima compatible) will come with a pre-cut USB/Cig light feature (seen below) for those that wish to add power features into the storage box for maybe powering an iPad or cell phone. A pass-thru plug also comes with for those that just want to pass a USB wire thru. For Klima pans there is an additional two cube cut-outs for aceessory switches or pass-thrus. Out of the box the pans had 3D printed plugs in case the accessory cube ports aren't utilized.
